To respond to the digital lifestyle age, AIS has decided to expand its services beyond telecommunications to include lifestyle products. Therefore, the AIS Flagship Store, located in Central World, Bangkok, was designed with the idea of displaying each item as an art piece in an art gallery, making this new AIS store "AIS The Digital Gallery."
With the previous long service counter and large table to display many products together, IF proposed a smaller, movable unit called AIU (AIS Intelligent Unit) that is flexible and can be rearranged freely to suitably display each digital device. Power for each unit is supplied by floor outlets laid in a grid system, which keeps the shop tidy and wireless. Information is linked to each unit and device through wireless signals.
With these AIUs, the flexibility makes it easier for customers to test each device and have a real experience with them.
The space in the store is increased and is more flexible, allowing for various product display settings or adjustments to accommodate special occasions such as new product launch events, digital-related seminars, or press releases.
In addition to the AIUs, each area of the store has its own character to serve various activities:
1. DIGITAL GALLERY - an exhibition of digital lifestyle devices that can be turned into an event space.
2. DIGITAL BAR - a lab/workshop/talk area with a long counter table for digital life gurus.
3. CONNECTED - Connect your life to digital possibilities with a showcase of devices.
4. DIGITAL ENTERTAINMENT - Experience entertainment services in a living room space.
5. SERENADE - A space for members with exclusive service experiences, featuring a distinctive mood and tone.
To support all these flexible units and activities for various occasions, the lighting system plays a significant role. It is designed to change tone and intensity or to focus on specific areas, such as making the central area brighter for special events or spotlighting products."
