An Undulating Courtyard for Connection and Care
Building upon the legacy of Arak Thonglor Animal Hospital, the Arak Phetkasem branch reimagines the role of a veterinary space—not just as a place of care, but as a welcoming ground for interaction, movement, and joy. INTEGRATED FIELD was invited to create a signature outdoor courtyard that functions as both a recreational area and an architectural identity.
At the core of the design is a modular terrazzo-like texture, rhythmically undulating to form a continuous landscape of diverse functions—pathways, benches, and planters—all sculpted from the same repeated material unit. This approach not only maximizes functionality but also creates a strong visual memory through the repetition and variation of a singular element.
The courtyard invites dogs, cats, and their owners to roam, rest, and reconnect. It becomes a living extension of the hospital’s mission: promoting wellness through space, environment, and experience. By elevating a simple module into a playful, adaptive terrain, the project turns an everyday surface into a place of comfort, care, and character.
