"With the owner’s love for gardens and trees, IF proposed the IT’S SARA café as a place where people could experience the seamless integration between indoor and outdoor spaces.
The intertwining of layers of each element is how the boundary between outside and inside is blurred, becoming almost invisible.
Components such as the lawn, plants, trees, and tiles are randomly placed on smooth steps, continuously extending from the surroundings into the area beneath the roof. These components also define the outdoor space. Meanwhile, elements such as the roof and walls appear to float over the garden, with minimal connections through intentionally unaligned slim steel columns.
Translucent panels, assembled on the waffle steel structure of the roof, allow natural light to penetrate the covered area. Clear glass walls define the visible distinction between the air-conditioned volume and the outside.
The properties and relationships of all these layers generate a space where the artificial boundaries between landscape, architecture, and interior are eliminated, creating a simple definition of having coffee in a garden."
