Layers of Adaptation
"Originating from a fascination with agriculture, the owner, who owns an agricultural field on a vast plot of land in Suan Phueng (a scenic town in Thailand), intends to bring farming products and the farming lifestyle from the farm to urbanites. Therefore, the first phase of the 'Coro project' was located at the front area of the same plot as the farm to serve as a prototype of the farming lifestyle and a display for Coro products.
As part of a long-term strategy, the project extension is soon to be continued to further strengthen Coro’s ambition with more activities, products, and experiments.
This first development of the Coro project is a place for both plants and people, designed to support various activities that respond to different circumstances.
A specific dimension of 1.50m, the proper distance for farming, defines a grid system that connects each layer of buildings, from the open space to the enclosed. The structure, skin, services, space plan, and components all support each other to define different spaces. Moveable surfaces define varying enclosures, and a modular furniture system allows for flexible planning. Electrical outlets on the grid structure supply power for different activities and adjustments.
Consequently, the relationship between these layers generates the space’s resilience, encouraging creativity and diversity."
