Exercise Loop
"To create the space for the proper cycle of an exercise loop consisting of warming up > working out > cooling down > warm down > relaxing, IF proposed the idea of merging an exercise space with the circulation that continues throughout the whole project – from the main entrance to the jogging track on the 3rd floor.
The main feature to help customers understand this idea is the use of color, environmental graphics, and lighting to define this specific space. A selection of orange creates an energetic feeling and continuity from the steps at the main entrance to the stairs that lead to the main reception and cardio space on the 2nd floor, and to the orange floor-wall-ceiling main jogging track on the 3rd floor.
Informative environmental graphics, such as how many calories will be burnt with each step or the direction and distance in this loop, help customers understand that apart from the equipment, this loop is already part of their exercise routine. The directional lighting strip or wall lamps on the stairs helps accentuate this loop as well. Moreover, bold phrases painted in each space provide an inspiring environment for customers.
On the street scale, with all the shop houses seamlessly attached to the footpath throughout the road, we proposed the urban void to give the city a break by creating a setback with open spaces on the 1st and 2nd floors. This provides a breathing space for the city and distinguishes M FITNESS from the other buildings around it, allowing people passing by to easily recognize it."
