Rooftop Bar บนยอดตึก OCC ที่สูงที่สุดในย่านเพลินจิต เราได้ถ่ายทอดแรงบันดาลใจจาก “หนุมาน” สู่งานออกแบบที่เชื่อมโยงวรรณคดีไทยเข้ากับประสบการณ์ร่วมสมัย

ก้าวแรกจากลิฟต์ จะพบกับโถงอุโมงค์โค้งที่นำสายตาตรงไปยังพระอาทิตย์ตกปลายอุโมงค์ วัสดุผิวสะท้อนโค้งมนตัดกับพื้นอิฐแดงแบบไทย และฝ้าเพดานที่เล่าเรื่องผ่านภาพจิตรกรรมจากเรื่องรามเกียรติ์

ใจกลางอุโมงค์คือเคาน์เตอร์บาร์ ภายในเป็นส่วนจัดเตรียมเครื่องดื่ม ล้อมรอบด้วย Bar Stool ให้แขกนั่งกินดื่ม ใช้แสงสีแดงเป็นหลักเพื่อเปรียบว่ากำลังอยู่ในปากของหนุมาน และที่ปลายสุดของอุโมงค์คือ DJ Booth เชื่อมต่อบรรยากาศออกไปยัง Rooftop Terrace ด้านนอก

เมื่อก้าวพ้นอุโมงค์ออกมา จะพบว่าเป็นการเดินออกมาจากปากหนุมานขนาดใหญ่ จากตอนหนุมานอมพลับพลา กลายเป็นภาพจำหลักให้กับโครงการ พร้อมการฉาย Projection Mapping บนใบหน้าของหนุมาน เพื่อเพิ่มมิติให้กับประสบการณ์ยามค่ำคืน

พื้นที่ด้านนอกคือ Rooftop Terrace ที่สามารถนั่งชมวิวเมืองได้รอบทิศ อีกฝั่งหนึ่งของอุโมงค์เป็นที่นั่งสำหรับแขกกลุ่มใหญ่ ตกแต่งผนังด้วยอิฐแดงย่อมุมในแบบสถาปัตยกรรมไทย และแสงไฟที่ซ่อนอยู่ตามจุดต่างๆ

ข้อค้นพบจากการออกแบบครั้งนี้ คือการนำวรรณคดีมรดกมาตีความในงานสถาปัตยกรรมร่วมสมัย เพื่อสร้างประสบการณ์ที่สะท้อนความเป็นไทย และทำให้ “Hanuman Rooftop Garden” กลายเป็นบาร์ที่มีเอกลักษณ์และน่าจดจำ

Hanuman Rooftop Garden

Perched atop the OCC Tower, the tallest landmark in Ploenchit, Hanuman Rooftop Garden reinterprets Thai literary heritage into a contemporary spatial experience. The design draws inspiration from the character of Hanuman, creating an architectural narrative that bridges mythology with modern urban lifestyle.

The journey begins as visitors step out of the elevator into a vaulted tunnel that frames a direct view toward the sunset. Polished, curvilinear reflective surfaces contrast against the textured Thai red-brick flooring, while the ceiling plane becomes a storytelling device through painted scenes from the Ramakien.

At the heart of this tunnel sits the central bar counter, with the service core enclosed within and surrounded by bar stools for guests. Red-hued lighting envelops the space, evoking the sensation of being inside Hanuman’s mouth. At the far end, a DJ booth acts as a threshold, extending the atmosphere seamlessly toward the outdoor rooftop terrace.

Exiting the tunnel, guests symbolically emerge from Hanuman’s mouth—an architectural gesture referencing the myth of Hanuman devouring the pavilion, which becomes the defining icon of the project. This experience is further enhanced through projection mapping cast across Hanuman’s face, adding layers of dynamism to the nighttime atmosphere.

The rooftop terrace itself opens up to panoramic city views. On the opposite side of the tunnel, larger seating areas accommodate groups of guests, framed by red-brick walls articulated with recessed corners in the manner of traditional Thai architecture, subtly illuminated by concealed lighting details.

This project reflects the discovery of how cultural heritage and literary myth can be reinterpreted through contemporary architecture—transforming Hanuman Rooftop Garden into a one-of-a-kind bar that is both distinctly Thai and memorably unique.
